Committee to seek Board ratification for crisis center contract that continued after June 30 expiration

The County Corrections Community Partnership discussed the expired contract with the Plumas Crisis Intervention and Resource Center (PCRC) and agreed to seek ratification from the Board of Supervisors for services that continued past the June 30, 2025 expiration.

Committee staff said the fiscal-year 2024–25 contract with PCRC expired June 30 and that at least two CCP-referred clients were in the center. Because the CCP was finalizing its budget and county contracting offices had backlog, staff proposed presenting the extension to the Board of Supervisors with ratification language rather than discontinuing services while paperwork cleared.

Members said multiple county contracts had continued into the new fiscal year while legal and contracting staff completed paperwork, and that the Board routinely accepts ratification for continued services in those circumstances. Committee members asked staff to bring the contract to the Board with ratification language as soon as practicable.

No formal vote to extend the PCRC contract was recorded at the meeting; staff said they would prepare the contract for the Board of Supervisors and noted that the Board has, in recent weeks, ratified similar agreements that began prior to approval.

Committee members emphasized ensuring services were not interrupted and that ratification would correct the administrative lapse. Staff said they would include the extension language and any fiscal adjustments in the packet to the Board of Supervisors and report back to the CCP when ratification occurs.
