At the July 17 meeting, the City of Kingman Clean City Commission voted to table two agenda items for consideration at its next scheduled meeting on Oct. 16: a proposal to change the commission’s meeting frequency to every two months, and a possible collaboration with the Kingman Youth Advisory Commission on joint cleanup events.
Staff presented the meeting-frequency proposal, saying the change would result in meetings in January, March, May, July, September and November on the third Thursday at 5 p.m. A commissioner said they were unsure why the change was proposed and preferred to wait for Commissioner Gingas or Commissioner Eric to be present before making a decision. A motion to table the frequency change was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote.
On the youth-council collaboration, staff reported that Commissioner Eric had met with the Kingman Youth Advisory Commission on April 23 and discussed collaborating on an Adopt-a-Highway cleanup or an Earth Day event in 2026. Staff said they did not have further details from Commissioner Eric and recommended deferring the item until he or Commissioner Gingas could attend. The commission moved and seconded a motion to table the collaboration item to the October meeting; the motion passed by voice vote.
The meeting included no formal direction to implement either change; both items were postponed so absent commissioners could participate in the discussion. Staff encouraged commissioners to reach out by email in the interim if they wanted to discuss the proposals before October.
