The Illinois Commerce Commission on July 17 approved reopening a docket concerning Illinois American Water Company for the limited purpose of incorporating staff reports and Illinois American’s progress reports submitted after May 1, 2025. The commission directed staff to continue to file Illinois American’s progress reports in the case record until meter testing is completed.

Upon Illinois American’s completion of testing and submission of a final progress report, staff must file a report through e‑docket notifying the commission of completion. The order was approved without objection at the meeting.

The reopening is limited in scope to meter testing progress reporting and does not, according to the order language read at the meeting, relitigate prior findings. Staff will monitor submissions and notify the commission when testing is complete.
