Harrisburg City Council approved a $135,500 work order to continue a multi-year street maintenance program in the Homesites neighborhood, city engineers told the council.
Chek Bibi of Stockwell Engineers described the work as a continuation of 2023–24 projects and said crews will perform patching, concrete repairs (including valley gutters, driveway approaches and accessible corners), spot repairs, milling and an asphalt overlay on selected streets. Bibi listed streets targeted for 2025, including Saint Gregory, Saint Jerome, Teddy, Claudia, Arlene and Laura and said past work included Kent Street and others.
Council members asked whether driveway approaches would be included; Bibi said approaches are done "if it's an obvious" need and that the team prioritizes the most critical repairs.
A council motion to approve Work Order 25001 — "Street maintenance project, financial consideration of $135,500" — was moved, seconded and approved on roll call with all members voting aye.
Council members said they want the neighborhood "buttoned up" and discussed scheduling the work around school bus operations; Bibi said staff will prioritize work during windows when school buses can be accommodated.
The work order funds design and construction procurement for local repair and overlay; the council approved the expenditure to proceed to bidding and construction oversight.
