McComb board hears superintendent report on new hires, certified positions

McComb School District trustees heard a report Aug. 4 from district staff on staffing and recent administrative reports. The presentation said one certified position — described as a geometry compensatory math position — has been opened at McComb High School, and staff said there are prospects for four additional certified positions across the district.

The update came during the portion of the meeting labeled “report and presentation of business of the superintendent,” where trustees were invited to ask questions about staffing and related reports. District staff also referenced a separate “16 session” report; trustees asked whether there were questions or concerns about that document.

District staff did not provide personnel names or final hiring decisions during the presentation. Board discussion was limited to clarifying questions about whether additional certified positions remained open; staff answered that prospects exist for four more certified positions.

Trustees moved through the report portion of the agenda without additional action indicated in the meeting transcript. The board then proceeded to consent items later in the session.
