The planning commission on July 10 approved Resolution 25‑17 to adopt the Stony Point Third plat, a final plat that memorializes a private street called Stony Point Trail (platted as Dora Avenue) and enables final closeout of the Stony Point development.
Planning staff explained the plat’s primary purpose is to record the private street as a permanent ingress and egress for the Point condominiums and the other lots within the Stony Point subdivision. “This is the plat of Stony Point third edition, which is basically functioning to memorialize the private street of Stony Point Trail,” staff member Brandy said.
Brandy told the commission the preliminary plan for Stony Point Trail was approved in 2020 and the developer obtained a one‑year extension from the council in April 2024; engineering is completing a small number of construction‑plan items before final closeout. A representative from engineering, identified as Caitlin, attended the meeting but did not add substantive comments.
Commissioners voted on a motion by Commissioner Tate, seconded by Commissioner Albee, and the motion passed unanimously. The commission recorded that engineering must finalize outstanding construction improvements as part of the closing process for the project.
Because the plat involves fewer than five lots, staff said it qualified as an administrative plat under local rules; the action memorializes a preapproved private street and helps complete outstanding project approvals and construction closeout.
