VALLEJO, Calif. — The Vallejo Flood and Wastewater District board voted unanimously July 15 to adopt Resolution 2025-6156 approving sewer service, storm drainage and upper-lateral service charges for fiscal year 2025–26 and to collect those charges on the Solano County property tax roll.

The action came during a special meeting convened by President Sorensen. Jeff Tucker, business services director and acting general manager, presented the written report and staff recommendation and said the district has posted the public hearing notice since July 10 and received no protests. "Collecting the district service charges through the property tax roll saves the district ratepayers over $1,000,000 annually in staffing costs and mailing expenses," Tucker said.

The nut graf: The board's approval authorizes the district to file the adopted written report with Solano County and have the listed charges assessed and collected on property tax bills for fiscal year 2025–26, eliminating the district's need for a separate direct-billing system for residential and commercial customers.

Tucker told the board the item was presented previously at the trustees' informational meeting on July 15, 2025, and that the written report and draft resolution were made publicly available in advance. There were no in-person or online speakers registered to comment during the public hearing.

Secretary Matulak moved to adopt the resolution; a roll-call vote was taken to verify the two-thirds threshold required for collection on the tax roll. President Sorensen, Secretary Matulak, Trustee James, Trustee Matias, Trustee Lady Juh, Trustee Palmaris and Trustee Gordon voted "aye," and the motion carried.

The board record reflects staff's recommendation to authorize collection through the Solano County tax roll and the absence of formal protests. With no other items on the agenda, the district adjourned at 7:02 p.m.

The adopted resolution directs staff to file the written report with Solano County and to implement collection of the approved charges on the county property tax roll for fiscal year 2025–26.
