Board issues annual safety certificates for LaBerge Baton Rouge and Queen Baton Rouge

The Louisiana Gaming Control Board voted to issue annual certificates of compliance to LaBerge Baton Rouge and to the Queen Casino Baton Rouge after staff and inspection reports showed no outstanding life‑safety deficiencies. John Fransick of AVS presented results of the 2025 annual hull and life-safety examination for LaBerge Baton Rouge, saying AVS inspectors found no deficiencies and recommended issuing the certificate that will expire Aug. 31, 2026. The board moved to issue the certificate; the motion was made by Miss Becknell and seconded by Mr. Langley and carried with no opposition. Assistant Attorney General Kenneth Lewis Jr. reported that the State Fire Marshal began an inspection of the Queen Casino Baton Rouge on May 15, found deficiencies that the property corrected, and completed a reinspection on Aug. 4 with no outstanding issues. The board accepted the Fire Marshal's report and voted to issue a certificate of compliance for the Queen Casino that also expires Aug. 31, 2026; the motion was made by Miss Hamilton Acker and seconded by Mr. Poole and carried with no opposition. No fines or continuing conditions were imposed at the meeting; both certificates were issued based on the submitted inspection reports and reinspections as described to the board.
