Mass. House adopts resolutions honoring Rolling Warriors vault hockey team and recognizing Fronal temporal degeneration awareness week

The Massachusetts House of Representatives adopted resolutions recognizing a range of local achievements and observances, including a commendation for the Rolling Warriors vault hockey team and a resolution declaring Sept. 22, 2025, as Frontal Temporal Degeneration Awareness Week.

The committee on rules reported that it recommended adoption of several resolutions filed by members of the House, including a resolution filed by Representative Spencer commending the Association for Frontal Temporal Degeneration for recognizing the week of 09/22/2025 as Frontal Temporal Degeneration Awareness Week; a resolution filed by Representative Roy of Franklin congratulating an Eagle Scout; and a resolution filed by Representative Soter of Bellingham congratulating town administrator Dennis Frane on his retirement. The House suspended the rules by voice vote on a motion by Representative Adam J. Scanlon of North Attleboro and then adopted the listed resolutions by voice vote; the clerk recorded the outcome as "the ayes have it."

After adoption, the presiding officer introduced guests in the well of the House associated with a resolution congratulating the Rolling Warriors of North Attleboro. The presiding officer said the team won “the first ever gold medal for a United States team” at the North American vault hockey championship in Toronto, Canada in May and congratulated the team members and organizers, naming team members and local partners. The House also noted the team’s upcoming participation in an international tournament in Sweden in September and offered its best wishes.

Named team members and contributors listed in the House record include Mia Bean, Christian Caruso, Ellery Kinane, Lara Liedka, Vivian Liedka, and Maddie Manning; Helena Lietka (identified in the record as cofounder and president of Space to Thrive); Helga Lietka (identified in the record as coach of the Rolling Warriors and cofounder and vice president of Space to Thrive); Craig Kinane (co‑coach); Paul Caruso; Kim D'Amato; and representatives of the Hurley branch of the Hakamak Area YMCA.
