Bloomfield Police Chief Philip Francisco appeared before the Farmington City Council to thank Farmington and other regional agencies for assistance following the line-of-duty death of Bloomfield officer Timothy Ontiveros.
The recognition was presented as part of the council’s regular meeting; Chief Francisco described the event as a large, multi-agency funeral that required shift coverage and planning support from neighboring departments.
Chief Francisco told the council that "Farmington really stood above and beyond and really came out and helped us plan this and really stood by us, for the honor guard, for everything involved in this whole funeral." He also singled out Lieutenant Corbin Davis, saying Davis "did a lot of the planning for the whole funeral and was right there, did all the shift coverage and everything, and he really stood above a lot of the other officers." Mayor Duckett and council members expressed appreciation and urged continued interagency collaboration in the northwest corner of the state.
Chief Francisco said the loss “brought our community together” and thanked Farmington’s staff for covering shifts and providing resources that made the large funeral possible. Council members joined in thanking Bloomfield officers and acknowledged the emotional impact of the loss on the county’s law enforcement community.
The recognition was ceremonial; no formal council action or funding request was made during the segment.
