Farmington City Council approved its consent agenda unanimously, taking a single motion to approve minutes, a surplus-vehicle declaration, multiple resolutions tied to New Mexico Department of Transportation programs for the Animas River North Extension and Thirtieth Street projects, and warrants through Aug. 9, 2025.
The consent action bundles routine approvals so staff can proceed with scheduled work and funding acceptance. Council voted 4-0 to approve the consent agenda after a brief question about the timing of the Thirtieth Street resurfacing.
City staff read the consent items into the record: approval of minutes for the regular meeting held 07/22/2025; a request to declare worn-out or obsolete vehicles surplus and authorize disposal pursuant to state statutes; adoption of “resolution number 2020Five-two5 approving phase 1 of the Animas River North Extension project and accepting funds from the New Mexico Department of Transportation, for congestion mitigation and air quality fund for such project;” and adoption of “Resolution Number 2020Five-two6 supporting participation in the Local Government Road Fund grama administered by New Mexico Department of Transportation for the Thirtieth Street Resourcing Project from Fairview Avenue to Farmington Avenue,” as well as a related municipal arterial program resolution listed as “resolution number 20 20 five-two thousand and 7.”
Councilor Rogers asked when the Thirtieth Street paving would take place; city staff (Mr. Hathcock) replied the paving for that section of Thirtieth is tentatively scheduled for April 2026. After no member of the public requested that an item be pulled for discussion, Councilor Rogers moved to approve the consent agenda; Councilor Giacchino seconded, and the ayes carried 4-0.
The council did not take separate action on any single consent item during the meeting; all items passed as part of the motion. Staff may bring individual items back for discussion if changes are requested by council or the public.
