Tunica County supervisors on Aug. 18 approved a request to apply to the Mississippi Department of Transportation’s Section 5310 disabled transportation program for a 7‑passenger ADA‑accessible bus and authorized a local match of $25,315.60 to be paid through North Delta planning funds.
Staff said the county currently operates a mix of senior and youth vehicles and that the requested bus would replace an inoperable 25‑passenger vehicle. The board approved the application and match authorization by voice vote.
County staff said the replacement will improve availability of ADA‑accessible service for senior and recreation programs; final procurement depends on grant award and vehicle availability.
