The Hancock County Board of Supervisors on Aug. 4 approved a letter of recommendation and authorized signature to proceed with Huey Stockstill for reconstruction of Texas Flat Road from Highway 607 to Highway 603, for $3,706,368.80 under project SDP 11260002 LPA 109415701000.

Why it matters: County staff said the work spans roughly 6.5 miles, will be staged to maintain traffic with flaggers rather than full closure, and is intended to improve a long stretch of county roadway. Supervisors also discussed schedule and start timing.

Details presented: The presenter said MDOT concurrence would take “between 30 and 45 days” before a pre-construction meeting and that construction was likely to begin approximately 60 to 75 days after concurrence.
