Hancock County supervisors on July 21 spread on the minutes the fully executed project partnership agreement with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for a beach project that will include beach and dune restoration.
Jimmy Ladner, the board president, presided over the motion. A county speaker explained the dune restoration and beach work "is all gonna be this is all gonna be done as one big project," adding that planting and sand work will be separated by staging; the speaker said the county must provide payment by September. The board voted 5-0 to spread the executed agreement on the minutes.
County staff said the final staging and schedule will be clarified once bid documents are available. The agreement envisions dune planting and sand work as part of a coordinated effort; officials said some tasks may occur on different days but will be treated as parts of a single project.
Ending: The county approved the partnership agreement at the July 21 meeting and staff said they expect further details, including staging and bid timing, after receipt of bid documents.
