Apache Junction planning commission schedules June 10 special meeting, shifts venue for general plan item

The Apache Junction Planning and Zoning Commission voted May 27 to hold a special meeting on June 10, 2025, at 7 p.m. in the boardroom of the Superstition Fire and Medical District, 565 North Idaho Road, to accommodate a forthcoming general plan amendment case.
Commissioner Burberry moved to schedule the meeting and Commissioner Callan seconded; the commission approved the motion on a roll call vote with all members present voting yes. The motion includes a provision that, "In the event there are no items to be brought forward to the commission, these meetings may be canceled," and that notification of any cancellation will be posted and provided to commissioners by staff.
Rudy, a staff member, told commissioners the venue change is "because your next meeting will have a general plan amendment case," and that staff will return with information related to the general plan item and other requested materials, including a review of parking regulations and traffic report effectiveness.
The commission set the date, time and location to allow adequate space for the public hearing and to conduct two separate sessions related to the general plan amendment process, as discussed briefly during the director’s and staff reports.
