The Apache Junction Water Utilities Community Facilities District will send a public notice to customers after staff identified a running annual average exceedance for disinfection byproducts at two sampling locations, a district staff member said during the May 20 meeting.
In the District Manager’s report, Mike, a district staff member, said there is "no emergency, no boil water or anything like that," but that the district must notify customers because the running annual averages rose above the relevant threshold in the most recent quarter (one location at 80.2 and another at 84, per staff presentation). He said the exceedance resulted from a previously recorded high sample about four quarters earlier that remains part of the running annual average and that the next quarter's sampling will drop that earlier high point off the running average and bring the average back into compliance.
Staff said the notification would appear in customer billing over the next couple of weeks and that customers may contact district staff with questions. The board was advised there were no immediate health‑safety actions required, but the notice is intended to inform customers about the exceedance and expected timing for returning to compliance.
