District says classified bargaining team reaches tentative agreement; ratification vote expected next week

The superintendent updated the board that classified employee representatives reached a tentative agreement and were conducting a ratification vote with membership expected to report back early next week. Jamie, who provided the update, said the district and classified bargaining team had made “significant progress” and that a special board meeting would likely be needed to adopt the contract after the membership ratifies.

Jamie said four of five bargaining units are “headed towards being ratified and accepted,” and commended the classified bargaining team and membership for negotiating an agreement described in the meeting as supportive of employees while realistic for the district’s finances. She said the classified ratification votes should conclude early next week and the board should expect a potential special meeting “sometime in the next couple of weeks” to approve the contract.

Board members asked for clarification about contract lengths and signature pages; Jamie said specifics will be presented to the board with the contract when it returns for formal action. The district also noted work continues on other representative contracts, and the administration will bring those agreements forward for board confirmation as they are finalized.
