The Centennial School District Governing Board approved a contract with DLR Group to support the district’s long‑range facility planning and community outreach. The board voted to award the contract during the July 30 meeting after administration and a selection committee reviewed proposals and recommended DLR Group.
District staff said five vendors responded to the solicitation and three were interviewed; DLR received the highest rating from the selection committee, which included district administrators and a facilities planning advisor. The contract award amount cited in the meeting materials was $174,435 and staff estimated the work would total roughly 1,200 hours over about 12–18 months, including extensive stakeholder engagement.
Staff described the planning timeline as a backwards‑mapped process: the district and DLR will plan community workshops and listening sessions across months (the draft timeline included monthly community workshops and two listening sessions, to be finalized). The purpose is to refresh the facility needs assessment that informed the district’s 2020 bond and to build a community‑engaged plan ahead of any future bond discussion. District staff said the schedule is draft and may shift; board liaisons will be asked to participate as dates are set.
The board approved the motion to award the contract; the chair called for the vote and the motion carried. The contract now moves to implementation planning with district staff and DLR to finalize the engagement calendar and scope.
