Council appoints members to multiple boards and commissions ahead of new fiscal year

The Lake Havasu City Council on June 24 appointed members to multiple boards and commissions ahead of the July 1 start of the new fiscal year.
City staff reported receipt of multiple applications and described interview panels’ recommendations. The council adopted resolutions to appoint Karen Bowler, Larry Heller and Derek Ross (alternate) to the Board of Adjustment; Paige Allgood, Dale McCormack, William Byers, Filomena Roberts and Jimmy Brooks to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board; Joan DeZurro, Paul Lehr and Tiffany Wilson to the Planning and Zoning Commission with a named alternate; and Philip Shannon to the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS) local police and fire boards. Miss Williams presented the applications and interview-panel recommendations for each body.
Each appointment was adopted by unanimous 7–0 vote. Council members thanked applicants and staff for participation in the recruitment process; staff noted appointment start dates align with the July 1 fiscal-year cycle and that many applicants had participated in interviews earlier in June.
