Summary
City council adopted an ordinance concept to issue a tax note of approximately $1,110,000 to fund improvements to the South Taxi Lane at San Angelo Regional Airport; FAA funds and airport fund balance will also contribute.
The San Angelo City Council on a 7-0 vote approved an ordinance authorizing the issuance and sale of a City of San Angelo tax note series 2025 in the approximate amount of $1,110,000 to fund the south taxi lane project at the San Angelo Regional Airport.
Tina Dierski, director of finance, said bids produced a winning rate of 3.5 percent and that the city will use available capacity in its debt-service fund so the note will not force an increase in the citywide tax rate. Dierski told the council the airport will also receive about $300,000 in funding from the Federal Aviation Administration plus $300,000 from the airport fund balance toward the project.
Justin (present in the room) was present to answer technical questions about the taxi-lane project. Councilmember Joe Self moved approval; Councilmember Tommy Hebert seconded. The motion passed 7-0.
The ordinance sets the note to mature on Aug. 15 (year read into record). Staff said proceeds will fund construction and improvements to the airport’s south taxi lane and related work. There was no public comment.
