Edinburg awards $5.0 million West infrastructure contract; selects engineer for Lift Station 4 upgrades

The Edinburg City Council voted Aug. 19 to award Bid No. 2025-24 for West infrastructure improvements to Longkhorn Excavators in the amount of $5,000,889.69, including approved additive alternates, and authorized the city manager to execute an agreement.
Separately, the council selected a firm in response to RFQ 2025-004 for professional engineering services related to Lift Station No. 4 and associated sewer-line upgrades and authorized the city manager to negotiate a contract with the selected firm, identified in the meeting as Supreme Engineering.
Gerardo Carmona, director of utilities, told the council that Lift Station No. 4 is located just north of Sugar and Chapin and “pretty much picks up all the west side of the city,” describing it as a major lift station that will be part of the sewer upgrades work.
Councilmembers moved and seconded the motions; both actions carried by voice vote. The award to Longkhorn Excavators and the pending professional-services negotiation move the city into the procurement and design phases for the West infrastructure and sewer upgrades, respectively. The city manager’s office will return with executed contracts and procurement documentation as required.
