Council renews auction services contract for surplus sales

The Greenville City Council approved a contract Aug. 12 to continue using Auctioneer Express for the sale of surplus equipment and vehicles. Staff said Auctioneer Express has handled the city—s surplus auctions since February 2008 and that the new agreement continues that relationship on a year-to-year basis with an out clause so the city can terminate if it chooses. Staff told council that the contract terms were reviewed by the city attorney and that staff saw no legal issues. Council approved the agreement by unanimous vote.
