Residents thank Tillamook County crews for neighborhood asphalt repairs

At the start of Wednesday’s Tillamook County Board of Commissioners meeting, residents from the Nesqu*** area addressed the board to thank public works staff and volunteers for providing asphalt and labor to repair neighborhood roads.
Jeff Walton said the county and Public Works staff helped supply asphalt used by volunteers to repair several county roads: “We did the work on the ninth, the tenth, and the eleventh, and the project went smooth. And I'd say the community is very grateful,” Walton said. County staff and a commissioner expressed appreciation for the compliment and acknowledged Public Works staff, including Chris Lady, for coordinating the project.
Commissioners noted that the local committee had voted to approve use of surplus asphalt and that volunteers and property owners contributed labor on the effort. Commissioners thanked the residents for coming to express gratitude.
The comments were made during the public comment portion of the meeting and were entered into the public record.
