The Tillamook County Board of Commissioners on May 28 designated the Headlight Herald as the official newspaper for publication of the county’s 2025 property tax foreclosure list.

County Tax Collector William K. Sargent told the board state law requires the board to designate a paper for publishing notices connected to tax foreclosure suits filed against property owners with unpaid taxes for three or more years. Sargent said the notice practice is part of the department’s statutory requirements to provide public notice and serve affected owners.

Commissioners praised the Headlight Herald as an important local publication and moved approval of Order No. 25-028; the motion passed by voice vote.

The designation authorizes publication of the 2025 foreclosure list in the Headlight Herald per the county’s notification procedures.
