The Board approved an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) that sets roles and responsibilities for entities participating in Routt County’s coordinated 2025 election. County staff explained the document is the clerk’s standard IGA for jurisdictions that run coordinated ballots and that the agreement designates the county manager, Jay Harrington, as the county’s designated election official in an administrative role. County counsel and the clerk’s office will continue to collaborate on any ballot measures and compliance requirements.
Commissioners voted to approve the IGA and to authorize the chair to sign the agreement delegating the administrative designation to the county manager. No operational changes to the clerk’s role were announced; staff said the arrangement is a routine delegation for coordination purposes.
