Tillamook County commissioners appoint two residents to Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee

The Tillamook County Board of Commissioners on May 28 approved appointments of two residents to the county Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee.
Parks Director Dan Keiser told the board the committee is authorized for eight members but has operated below that level for years; since January the committee lacked a quorum for at least three meetings. Keiser presented applications from two candidates — identified in the meeting as Carla and Bridal Sears — and said committee members who attended review meetings had no objections to either applicant.
The appointments were proposed by Commissioner Bell and received support from other commissioners. Commissioner Bell said Carla lives adjacent to a county park and is a frequent park user; she described Erica (another applicant referenced by name during the discussion) as a long-time, multigenerational county resident who works for the Oregon Coast Visitors Association and could help with marketing. The board moved, seconded, and voted “aye”; the motion carried.
Keiser said the committee had typically operated with six members instead of the authorized eight and that the additional appointments would help restore quorum reliability.
The appointments were processed as Order No. 205-27 in the matter of appointment of members to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. The board approved the order by voice vote.
