Pueblo County planning and development staff provided a weekly update Aug. 7 on the transition plan for the building and inspection division and related technology and staffing steps. Director Howard said interviews for new county inspection and related positions concluded with six candidates; three were advanced to the next phase and the board will be invited to a future meet-and-greet.
Staff described ongoing OpenGov configuration work to support permitting and inspection workflows, a planned daily data-update feed to the county assessor, outreach to Pueblo West and Colorado City, and the formation of a technical advisory committee for stakeholder input. The county also is planning office space with Weston Burr and expects to post new county positions in September with the goal of having staff on board for November training.
Director Howard said the ambassador program and a survey included in Pueblo Means Business engagement have yielded initial positive feedback. He said the technical advisory committee notice was recently posted and the county anticipates a formal 12-member committee with broader unofficial participation from stakeholders.
After the update the board approved a motion to move into executive session. Deputy County Attorney Gavin Wolney asked the board to convene an executive session to receive legal advice under Colorado Revised Statutes §24‑6‑402(4)(b) concerning the transfer of data under termination of the intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with the City regarding the regional building department, and to discuss purchase, acquisition, lease, transfer or sale of county property at 201 West Eighth Street and 126 East Fourth Street under §24‑6‑402(4)(a). A motion to go into executive session was made and the board voted in favor.
The transcript records the executive-session motion and an affirmative voice vote; the public session then adjourned into executive session. The transcript does not record the text of legal advice or any deliberations that followed in closed session.
