Council authorizes city manager to negotiate purchase of property at 645 SE For Villa Road

Following a closed executive session at the Aug. 4 meeting, the Dallas City Council voted to authorize the city manager to negotiate the purchase of property at 645 Southeast For Villa Road.

Councilor Shane moved the motion and Councilor Spivey seconded it; council members indicated their approval by voice vote and the motion passed unanimously. City staff did not provide purchase price, parcel details or intended use for the property during the open session; the action recorded was authorization to negotiate.

City officials stated that the meeting had been recessed for executive session and that audio/visual would be muted during that closed portion; at the conclusion of the executive session the council returned to open session and took the authorization vote.
