The Pacific Board of Aldermen on Aug. 5 approved a series of purchase orders for wastewater lift‑station control panels and related equipment and accepted a contractor pay application tied to the city’s 2024 PPMP project.
Council approved purchase orders to Van de Venner Engineering for control panels and equipment: $45,780 for Lift Station 1 equipment, $49,720 for Brush Creek lift-station control panel, $73,860 for Lift Station 2 control panel, $75,620 for Indian Hills lift-station control panel and $56,890 for Prison lift-station control panel. The board also approved pay application No. 2 to DeGreshenson Construction in the amount of $85,707.20 for the 2024 PPMP project.
Public Works staff and the board noted these items were part of the capital program the board reviewed earlier in the year. During discussion aldermen asked about timing and the potential need to align larger spending with the budget cycle; staff said the work was time sensitive and vendors had lead times. The city reported that, overall, the package of lift‑station work remained roughly within the total budgeted amount when compared to the budget prepared earlier in the year, with some line items over and others under.
What the action means: the city has authorized design and procurement spending for multiple lift‑station control panels to upgrade or replace aging equipment; work will proceed under purchase orders and invoicing rules and staff will oversee vendor scheduling and installation.
