The Plaistow Board of Selectmen voted unanimously July 28 to accept an amended state highway-safety grant for the police department that increases the award from $8,500 to $14,665. ‘‘I'll make the motion to approve the amended, police department highway highway safety grant in the amount of 14,665,’’ said Selectman Tyler, who moved the final motion. The board recorded the vote as 3-0 in favor. The town had previously accepted $8,500. Town staff said the amendment adds $6,165 to the originally approved amount; town officials presented the amendment paperwork and asked the board to formally recognize the increased grant limitation as required by the state. No substantive changes to program scope were described at the meeting; the action before the board was to accept the amended grant terms and updated total award amount.
