Commissioners report: housing‑advocacy meeting with legislators and Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport open house announced

During the commissioners' reports at the Aug. 19 meeting, Commissioner Leslie Dahlkemper said members of the GEFCO Housing Advocacy Committee met with the county's legislative delegation to discuss affordable housing issues and continued partnership opportunities. "Commissioner Zentzinger and I also serve on the GEFCO Housing Advocacy Committee, and members of that committee met just yesterday with members of our our GEFCO legislative delegation to talk more about issues related to affordable housing, how we can continue to partner and collaborate," Dahlkemper said in her report. She added the county had been in budget meetings and thanked legislators for participating. County Manager Joe Kirby announced a public open house and town hall at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport scheduled for Aug. 20 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the airport conference room on the second floor of the terminal building. "Tomorrow night, August 20... from 5 to 6PM, our Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport will be hosting an open house slash town hall," Kirby said, inviting the public to attend. Commissioner Rachel Zenzinger offered no report for the week. County Attorney Kim Sorrells said she had no updates. The board did not receive public comment during the public‑comment periods of the meeting; the clerk said no one had signed up for public comment and the host reported no online participants. The commissioners adjourned the public hearing portion and planned to reconvene for staff briefings shortly after the reports.
