Montgomery County commissioners voted to adopt the county’s solid waste plan for 2025 following an annual review by environmental services staff.
Matt Debo, environmental services, told commissioners the review found no major policy changes were necessary and the draft included mostly name updates to committee membership. "Everything that was there was just the updates that need to be done, everyone agreed upon. And if you all agree with them, then get a resolution to accept those and prove the solid waste plan for another year," Debo said.
Commissioners asked about vacancies on the board and outreach to the private sector for replacements; Debo said he had reached out to a prospective member and was awaiting a return call. Commissioner Beaver moved to accept the 2025 plan; the motion was seconded and carried with all commissioners voting yes.
Staff will draft the resolution to formally adopt the plan and file it as required.
