The Board authorized Road and Bridge Director Eric Sandberg to solicit quotes for repairs to the county salt bunker at 320 Seventh Street.

Sandberg told the commission the 25-year-old bunker needs a new cover, fabric covering, anchors into the concrete base and metal reinforcing; he estimated cost at about $50,000 and said funds are budgeted for the work.

Commissioner Dideker moved to allow staff to receive estimates; the board approved the request unanimously.

Why it matters: The repair work is routine maintenance for winter road operations and is planned within the department’s existing budget.
