Chaffee County commissioners approved two grants paid from TANF-derived county funds: $50,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Chaffee County and $25,000 to Full Circle Restorative Justice. The motions passed by voice vote during the meeting.
Brian (Boys & Girls Club representative) thanked the county and described the grant as supporting local families and subsidized youth programming; he said many children attend without paying fees and noted the club serves children across the county. County staff and DHS representatives said the funding was possible due to an unusual availability of TANF funds this year and that the awards support community safety-net services.
Commissioners welcomed the grants, thanked nonprofit staff and volunteers, and encouraged public visits to see program operations. No conditions or amendments to the grant awards were recorded in the meeting minutes presented to the board.
