Ray Grundy, the city’s code enforcement officer, told the Sweet Home City Council that a community cleanup program he organized removed large quantities of household waste and sharply reduced open-storage code violations. “There was 184 addresses that participated,” Grundy said, and the effort led to “12 code enforcement cases that have been open for over a hundred days” being closed. He told councilors the program produced “237 truck and trailer loads” of material and that the open-storage cases seen now represent a roughly “92% reduction since implementing the program.”
