The board held a first read on a new data governance policy and recommended language changes to align with NHSBA samples.
Committee members noted a forthcoming policy specific to artificial intelligence use was available from the NH School Board Association and would be reviewed at the next policy meeting. Board members also discussed acceptable Internet use for staff, including prohibitions on political activity and electioneering using district equipment; the committee confirmed sample language addressing political activity was included in the draft.
The board approved elementary and other handbooks unanimously and approved the middle‑school handbook 6–1 after prior discussion about the bell schedule and the handbook sentence that reads, "Students will participate in exploratory classes as their schedule permits." One board member objected to that phrasing because of concerns about equal access; administration said available exploratory offerings, rotations and staffing limit guaranteeing every student every exploratory. The board agreed to forward technical policy and handbook language to the next policy meeting for any additional refinements.
