During the public comment period of the July 29, 2025, Grey Canyon Commissioners Court meeting, Christopher (Chris) Bamey, a landman with Monument Resources, said he submitted an oil and gas lease offer to the county on May 21 on behalf of a client and had received little communication.
Bamey asked that the county put his leasing agent in contact with county staff so that his client, who plans to move a drilling rig to the area soon, can proceed. County staff responded that they could not comment and no formal action was taken on the record.
Bamey identified himself as a landman with Monument Resources and thanked the court for the opportunity to speak.
