On July 29, 2025, Grey Canyon Commissioners Court approved the Sheriff's request to purchase two 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV police vehicles and approved fund transfers to cover the purchases and jail operating costs.
The court authorized purchase of the two Tahoe PPV vehicles using a BuyBoard contract. County staff said proceeds from vehicle sales in the amount of $26,952.50 and a transfer of $81,500 from the group health insurance fund to capital will be used for the vehicle purchases.
Separately, the court approved a transfer of $250,000 from group health insurance to cover jail repairs and hospital services for inmate healthcare during the remainder of the fiscal year. The sheriff explained $125,000 will go toward building repairs, with about $70,000 dedicated specifically to boiler repair related to the chiller system; the other $125,000 will cover hospital costs.
Commissioners approved the requests by voice vote.
