Committee reviews ordinance to add $1 million to Station 12 expansion budget from University Fire Service Area fund balance

He said the University Fire Service Area Commission approved the additional appropriation on June 4 and that the University Fire Service Area fund balance is approximately $6 million.

Assembly members asked whether the fund balance remaining after the engines and this appropriation would be sufficient; staff indicated the fund balance would cover the appropriation and that the fund had sufficient balance but that some exterior improvements required additional clarity. No committee vote on the ordinance was recorded in the meeting minutes; staff offered to provide further detail about the specific exterior improvements when asked.
