GREELEY, Colo. — The Greeley Historic Preservation Commission on June 2 voted unanimously to approve the triennial review questionnaire and a combined work plan covering 2025–2027 for submission to the city clerk’s office.
The materials were presented by staff member Cassie, who told commissioners the packaged submission includes the questionnaire, a draft work plan, and prior CLG (Certified Local Government) annual reports that document commission activities and can serve as the work plan’s background. Cassie said the questionnaire addresses how the commission’s activities tie to city strategic priorities such as business growth, community vitality and housing.
Why it matters: The triennial review and work plan document how the commission meets municipal code responsibilities and the Certified Local Government reporting requirements; approval sends the city’s responses and priorities to the clerk’s office for the next phase of local and state review.
What happened at the meeting: After discussion and brief edits, a commissioner moved to approve the questionnaire and the work plan for submission to the city clerk’s office; another commissioner seconded. The motion passed by unanimous voice vote. The commission instructed staff to transmit the materials to the clerk and to return if further revisions are requested by council or the clerk.
Details from staff: The draft work plan lists five primary tasks: (1) identification of historic resources, (2) review of designation and alteration applications, (3) public education, (4) commissioner education and training, and (5) review of financial incentive applications as needed. Staff also noted CLG training requirements and existing webinar/ scholarship avenues for commissioner training.
Ending: Staff will file the approved questionnaire and work plan with the city clerk’s office and will provide commissioners updates if additional council review or revisions are requested.
