County staff explained the easement covers the strip of land where a transformer box currently sits and that TNMP intends to reset poles and adjust equipment in the corridor. County attorney Belt was present to answer questions about the language in the easement, which reserves standard rights such as access for utility operation and maintenance.
During discussion a commissioner asked whether the county could obtain more than the stated $10 in consideration; staff noted the agreement language reflects the standard form and uses the phrase “good and valuable consideration” and that the $10 language appears in the document. Commissioner Matthews moved to approve; Commissioner Taylor seconded. The court approved the motion by voice vote.
