Chair Tyler Murphy told the Fayette County Board of Education on July 28 that the Kentucky Department of Education had received notification from the U.S. Department of Education that previously withheld Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Title funds would be released this week. Because of that notice, Murphy said a resolution urging the release of federal funds included on the board's agenda was now moot.
The chair said if circumstances change the board would be prepared to reintroduce the resolution. No formal board action was required at the July 28 meeting on this item.
