Glenn County opens sidewalk removal and replacement bids; Allen Owens Construction submits lowest bid of $60,480

Glenn County opened bids for IFB 25-067, sidewalk removal and replacement at various locations, during a public bid opening. Procurement analyst Mickey Thompson announced four bids: Allen Owens Construction and Paving Inc. of Blackshear, Georgia, $60,480; Concrete Constructors Inc. of Buckhead, Georgia, $141,500; Georgia Highway Cable Barriers LLC of Conyers, Georgia, $93,120; and Swindale Construction Company Inc. of Glendale, Georgia, $89,600.

"A bid tabulation sheet will be posted to the county's website as soon as it's available. Be sure to sign up for bid alerts on the website so you will receive a notification of when it is posted," Procurement Analyst Mickey Thompson said at the opening. Thompson reiterated that the board reserves the right to waive technicalities and that the lowest responsive bid may not be the recommended awardee.

No award or recommendation was made at the opening. Thompson said the recommended award will be represented to the finance committee and then to the full Board of Commissioners at its next scheduled monthly meeting.
