The Cobb County Board of Zoning Appeals voted Aug. 13 to amend its June 11, 2025 motion on variance case v70 (Beam Construction Company Inc.) to specify that stormwater-management comments must be addressed prior to issuance of a certificate of occupancy.

Why it matters: The amendment clarifies the timing of stormwater compliance for a previously approved variance that increased allowable impervious surface and reduced a setback; the board specified that all stormwater comments must be satisfied prior to final occupancy to ensure drainage measures are completed.

What changed: Staff proposed and the board approved adding to the June 11 motion the language that stormwater-management comments be completed prior to certificate of occupancy. The motion to amend was made, seconded and passed during the Aug. 13 hearing.

Board action: Motion to amend the earlier motion was moved and seconded on the record and approved by the board. The amendment will be reflected in the official minutes and the v70 case file.

Implementation: The department noted the additional criterion will be applied during permit and final-inspection review for the v70 project; compliance with stormwater conditions must be demonstrated before the county issues a certificate of occupancy.
