Several defense attorneys told the court the state had offered or the defense had submitted materials for pretrial intervention (PTI) in multiple cases; judges set status and pretrial dates and gave procedural directions for monitoring compliance.
Attorney Charles Smith reported that his client, Courtney Boykins, had submitted mitigation paperwork and completed a TRAS assessment; Smith said they were waiting on the TRAS result to pursue PTI. The judge said, “Hopefully, we have an answer before the pretrial conference date on October.” The transcript shows the case was continued to an upcoming docket date for further status.
In the Marquez Guerrero matter counsel said they were “waiting for the state to give us a response on our PTI request” and expected a response within the week. The judge instructed counsel to “notify my coordinator, letting her know that he has entered into the program” should the defendant be accepted, so the court can monitor compliance.
Other defendants reported similar PTI-related statuses. Counsel for Rayhan Clayton said the state provided an offer to enter PTI and the defendant was trying to gather funds for program fees; the judge noted the next court date of October 2 if the defendant did not complete payment. Defense counsel for Sierra Rubacaba and Steven Straka said PTI packets or negotiations were in progress and pretrial conference dates were set (October 30).
These docket entries were procedural status updates: no plea or final dispositional orders were recorded in the transcript for the PTI matters. The court repeatedly instructed that counsel notify the court coordinator upon a defendant's acceptance into PTI so the court can track compliance. Several future dates were set for status or pretrial conferences, mainly October 2 and October 30.
