Attorney Matthew Lines represented homeowner Janet Marti and said the gate was a replacement for a previously permitted gate and was installed in good faith following advice from town staff. "Before installing the gate, the homeowner reached out to the town of Davie, the building department, and asked whether a permit would be required, and she was advised that no permit would be required," Lines said.
