Miss Provo organizers name Tricia Funes new director; long-serving volunteers step down

The Miss Provo scholarship committee introduced Tricia Funes as the new director and recognized longtime volunteers who are stepping down after extended service. Organizers said Robin and Susan — volunteers who served on the Miss Provo scholarship committee for more than 20 years — will pass leadership to Funes and the new committee. Emcees asked the audience to acknowledge the volunteers’ years of service and thanked them for mentoring contestants and organizing workshops. Program leaders said Tricia Funes has begun assembling a new committee and will lead the organization’s scholarship and production work for the coming year. Volunteers on stage described a multi-year handover and encouraged community members to support the incoming leadership and the scholarship program. Organizers emphasized that most of the scholarship committee are unpaid volunteers who donate time to coaching, event production and fundraising. They also thanked Covey Center staff for technical support and asked donors and community members to continue supporting the program.
