Pageant committee awards scholarships, people’s-choice and special prizes

Organizers and donors presented multiple scholarships and awards during the Miss Provo scholarship pageant at the Covey Center for the Arts in Provo. Will Paul Warner, appearing on stage for the Freedom Festival trustees, announced a $3,500 scholarship for Ryan Clark and a $500 scholarship for Caroline Doxey to support their service roles, and referenced additional scholarship funds provided to the Miss Freedom Festival program. The program also distributed awards determined by contestants and audience voting: Emery Thomas received both the Spirit award (selected by fellow contestants) and the People’s Choice award (audience voting via QR code). Other awards announced on stage included a top-ticket-seller award to Jaylyn Lindley and a sponsorship-collection award that resulted in a tie between Britney Rivera and Emery Thomas; sponsors donated items and scholarship funding for the program. Former Miss Provo Glory Thomas presented a Glow of Kindness scholarship to Britney Rivera, citing Rivera’s mentoring work and videos submitted to that nonprofit. Program organizers asked winners and recipients to follow the committee’s process for scholarship disbursement and to complete required forms. Organizers thanked local business sponsors and said the scholarship program relies on community donations and volunteer time. The pageant committee noted that exact disbursement timing and administrative steps require winners to complete application forms and coordinate with the auditor and scholarship committee.
