Superintendent reports modest enrollment increase and back-to-school activities ahead of first day

The superintendent recapped summer work including a leadership advance on July 1, new teacher orientation on Aug. 7 led by Andrea Paxton and her instructional team, and a well-attended community welcome-back event at Central Park where staff service anniversaries were recognized. Bell thanked custodial, maintenance and technology staff for preparing campuses.
Bell also reviewed a list of upcoming dates and back-to-school nights, noting the board's regular meeting on Aug. 26 and other school site events through early September, and said he would circulate a calendar to trustees. He closed by highlighting fall priorities and thanked staff for summer work.
