The Greenwood Parks and Recreation Board on Aug. 1 approved a purchase agreement with Area Wide Electronics and Refrigeration to replace aging vending machines in the field house and community center at a proposed cost of about $18,465.
Staff told the board the machines in several facilities are the oldest models and need modernization. The proposed expenditure is not coming from the general operating budget; staff said the vending program is self-sustaining and the purchase is covered by the vending account.
Board members asked whether the units are new; staff confirmed they are new units intended to modernize operations. The board moved, seconded and approved the purchase by voice vote.
